I wonder why Mark Schultz got such a big round of applause when he came out? Hmmm.... let's see... He's from Colby, Kansas; Has the #1 single for the last three weeks; His mom and and dad and several other family members present in the audience. OK, I get it!
It's always a proud moment when "local boy does good." Mark has taken that one step further. As one of the newest artists with Myrrh Records, Mark has broken into the CCM industry, secured a record contract, and his first release "I Am The Way" hits number one - all in a very short period of time. The folks in Mark's band are Amy Davis - backing vocals; Paul Hagy - guitar; Akil Thompson - bass; and Mike Childers - drums.
With a music and vocal quality similar to Michael W Smith, this youth pastor's songwriting and knack for pop songs has not surprised very many industry professionals with his rapid success. Also his heart for Christ is clear, and I suspect that his music will draw many young people to a place where they may find the One who's success really matters.
Nancy Johnson awards Amy Harmon the top prize for the Light 99 Mom's Best Recipe contest for her Mama Jo's cherry pie. (Apparently the crust was the clincher.)
The group that most people where waiting to see took the stage, and began a little over an hour of ten years worth of songs! That's right, it's hard to believe, but the men of 4-HIM who started as members of the group "Truth" are celebrating their 10th year together in the music ministry.
These multi-Dove Award winning, Grammy nominated, amazing and forceful harmonies shared the Word of God with boldness and conviction.

How do you cover ten years of music in an hour? Just ask 4-HIM. They did a wonderful sharing their older hits, including one of my all-time favorite songs ever, The Basics Of Life. We heard songs from just about every album, including the most recent
The ease with which four strong solo voices shared the spotlight was a testimony to their fellowship.

As I listened to song after song with strong testimony and emotional vocal arrangements, I couldn't help but hear Jesus say to them at the close of the show, "Well done, good and faithful servants."
